The system may include a lockingmechanism configured to lock the carriage in a working position at a top of the travelpath, a maintenance position at a bottom of the travel path, and/or a storm position at amidpoint of the travel path. The turbine may be configured to hold the blades in avertical alignment parallel to the tower, when the carriage is in the storm position.
